There was no helmet to helmet contact and White used his hands to avoid hitting Fitz with his body. It is physically impossible for a 240 pound man running at full speed to alter his rush in the 2 feet away from the QB he was when the ball was released.

It was a legit call. Just terrible that a kid has to miss out on the first half of the biggest game of the season.

I don’t have an issue with the official on the field making that call. My problem is it being upheld. No contact to the head, player wasn’t defenseless, in fact he was defending himself by falling backwards, and most importantly again, contact was not made to the head or neck. No lunge no leading with the helmet, he was pushed. That was not targeting, it was one of the worst calls ever made in the history of replay and those officials should be fired immediately.
