Tigers Win On Senior Night Against Kentucky

BATON ROUGE - The LSU (3-12-3, 1-7-2) soccer team closed out the 2019 season with a 3-2 win on Senior Night against the visiting Kentucky Wildcats. LSU jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with goals by Meghan Johnson and Molly Thompson in the 5th and 23rd minutes, respectively. Kentucky (6-10-3, 1-8-0) evened things up after two consecutive goals by Jordyn Rhodes in the 28th and 75th minutes. In the 84th minute, with the match all squared at two, Thompson received the ball just outside the 18-yard box off of a pass from Lindsey Eaton and found the back of the net to give the Tigers their first conference win of the season, sending this year's senior class out on top. With the win, the Tigers finish the season with a 3-12-3 overall record and 1-7-2 in the SEC. The Wildcats finish their season with a 6-10-3 overall record and a 1-8-0 league record.
