Rabalais & his other chubby friends at the Baton Rouge Advocate wrote a mean spirited hit piece on Les Miles at Kansas. Too chickenshit to put his/their name(s) on the rancid article. "Advocate Staff". This was not lost in LSU fans that actually liked averaging 10 wins a seasons, for 11 seasons. It's been posted on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram.

This time the Chubby Boys going after Les Miles recruiting this time:.

-Miles takes the Kansas job November 19, 2018.

-Doesn't have a complete Staff at all. Only keeps 2 coaches from previous stats, running backs coach & linebacker coach, the rest are all new.

-Has exactly 1 month until Early Signing Day December 19, 2018.

-Kansas had 1 recruit, a white 3 star running back who ran a 4.88. He initially decided to stay, but then decommited 2 days later. Cole Mueller. Maybe Bob's son? Naw, kid looked like a ginger & Bob's too old.

-Miles begins with only 62 players on scharship, but could not take a full allotment if 25 in 2019, due to very poor roster management by the firmer coach.

- Signs 10/11 recruits, including landing Kansas' best Safety prospect & a Juco 3 star QB. He had to sort through a few Juco's after most have been sifted though. Does a very good job with this, landing a few undecided.

-Ranked #115 class on 247sports, up from #184 where he started, when Rabalais & Morning Advocate prints out the pitiful story above. "Got 'em this time, sumbitch!" ...giggles Disco Derek Ponamsky in the background.

-Miles new OC takes a Head Coaching job, causing some fast reshuffling within the 1 month time.

-Miles finishes his coaching staff & plus adds 8 analysts (Which he didn't have at LSU)

-February 6, 2019 National Signing Day

-Kansans, previously not expecting too much, watch in amazement, as Les Miles1 unveils the entire new class. One thread: "Has it ever been like this?". Most say 'hell no, not ever'.

-New Coach, Les Miles lands the #65 recruiting class in America in 2 months & 2 weeks on the job... in Kansas. Taking only 19 recruits. He inks almost every single target 247sports thought possible & Rivals.com as well, plus a few more.

-The coup de gras, was swiping a very good linebacker recruit out from under mighty K-State on signing day & Texas DE\LB 4 Star Texas 5A Defensive player of the year Stephen Parker. Take note of mighty K-State ranked #62 with 21 recruits...up just 3 spots from Kansas, which is unusual in the state. To be fair, K-State has a new coach as well. But K-State is a Football school, Kansas is all Basketball.

Rivals ranks Kansas & K-State both at #67. K-State not happy, Kansas in somewhat disbelief. Les Miles gets the nod imo, because he only signed 18/19 recruits, compared to K-Stare's 21.

True, a #65 ranking would be terrible at LSU. But stating the blatantly obvious, Kansas is nowhere LSU in talent, wins, conference..anything to do with football really. A 4 Star recruit is similar to a 5 star there, from what I've gathered.

Mike Farrell, Rivals Recruitung Analyst sums up Miles first class:

https://n.rivals.com/news/how-new-power-five-coaches-fared-in-their-first-recruiting-cycle

"Miles is a very good recruiter, one of the best in the business, but he has his work cut out fir him at Kansas. Winning and staying competetive will be the keys to recruiting for Miles, although his connections to Texas and Louisiana will help. He should be able to upgrade recruiting for Kansas

Grade: B"

Anyone else seen a recruiting class move from #184 all the way up to #65? That's a 119 spot move up the recruiting chart.

Miles moved his recruiting class up from #115 when Rabalais & friends ran the Baton Rouge artical, 50 spots up & finishing nowhere close to
the worst class in Kansas history. Many have said it may be one of the best, considering the circumstances.

It says Advocate staff so how do you know Rabalais wrote it. Maybe it was Shakespeare.

Don't worry about Elmer. Manny Miles has entered the transfer portal.

from the linked article:

With Miles being new to the program, and the previous staff only gaining one commitment, it wouldn't be surprising to see Kansas have a stronger push in February. Any prospects who don't sign during the 72-hour window in December must wait until Feb. 6 to sign with a school.

I don't see a hit piece. I see a very sensitive reader.

Article"? To oiint outvthat Kansas sucks in Football?
Headline:

Les Miles' first Kansas recruiting class on pace to be program's worst ever

-It's Lie, it's Fake news

-What was the Point of this "Article"? To point out that Kansas has sucked in Football? Or to point out former Miles employee, Ed Orgeron, has yet to equal Miles in recruiting in Gus first 3 trays, including Miles last recruiting class in 2016, ranked #2, that produced LSU's first ever Butkus Award Linebacker?

Perhaps it's just another Sales job designed to push Orgeron onto the fanbase, which has never bought into him & his poor coaching hires? Chunky Butt Rabalais, could take another shot at Les Miles by pointing out that Miles hired Dave Aranda, Corey Raymond, Orgeron & Ensminger? The first 2 coaches are keeping the LSU program winning, while the older former position coaches are keeping the Offense in a downward spiral?

I got a Headline for you the "Tough" reader, of course you'll never see it from "Heavy Scott" and the Baws".

Ed Orgeron Drops 4th straight to Alabama, and 7th overall against the Crimson Tide teams

What you will see:

Why the LSU Faithful should feel upbeat for 2020 Bama game, despite the 35-9 beatdown last night

While it's true Ed Orgeron is 0-7 vs Alabama as an SEC coach..blah., blah..

-Refs Screwed us

-Ensminger really starting to get the hang of Offensive Coordinator, despite not scoring many touchdowns. Ensminger is looking forward to 2020, to finally implement his vision for his Offense. Orgeron in full agreement.

-Saban like the "Honey Badger", he takes what he wants in recruiting. While the names Dylan Moses, Patrick Surtain & Ishmael Sopsher make LSU fans blood boil..blah, blah..

Kansas last 3 Coaches:

Turner Gill -5-19 (20% winning percentage)
Charlie Weis -6-22 (21.4% winning percentage)
David Beauty -6-42 (12.5% winning percentage)

Overall Record: 17-83

* No Kansas team in about a Decade has won more than 3 games. Kansas wants to know, "What's a Bowl game?"

Mighty Mangino: 2002-2009
50-48 at Kansas (51% winning percentage) & 23-41 in Conference. (35.9% winning percentage) 4 winning seasons, 4 losing seasons. (Counting 6-6 as a 'winning' season)

Mangino had a 12-1 season in 2007, but didn't win the Big 12, which was won by Oklahoma. Guess which team Big 12 team Mangino didn't play during his Golden Run year?

Can Les Miles win more than 3 games for the first time in 10 seasons? Without an 85 man roster due to beauty's unbelievably poor roster management & with a very bad roster? Possibly the worst in the Power 5 Conference. A roster so bad, Miles didn't didn't sign any Offensive Lineman, due to the Defense being in emergency room type bad shape. Freshman will play & likely Start on Defense.

I personally believe he will win 3-5 games this year & move up to 6 maybe 7 wins in 2020. I think by 2021, he will have Kansas in the 8+ winning range.

I think the article was written to give the reader a summary of how Miles was doing up to that point and to say that he can (and will) improve the recruiting class in Feb.

Then the editor slapped the title on it to create more traffic. Journalists do that all the time. Drudge Report, Huff Po, every other site...

Clickbait is a possibility. Desperation, as the Baton Rouge Advocate no longer wants to understand how LSU graduates & fans feel & think about the state of the program. Out of touch. Haven't cared since well before "I am the Search". They just pump out yet another Orgeron food/gumbo story & that's about it.

Even if it was supposed to be "Informative", why to it turn to a direct comparison to LSU's recruiting class? Orgeron been cultivating & starting in his special rouxt for that class for 3 years., only to lose the Top player for the 3rd year in a row. ( Moses, Sustain, Sopsher) Miles had 2 1/2 Months & to put together a 3/4 class & an entire staff at the same time.

Number of times BR Advocatre has covered Kansas Football recruiting, the past 50 years? 1 time. I don't recall them covering Gerry Dinardo's recruiting efforts at Indiana, do you?

How bad is the situation at Kansas, Coach Miles is taking over? He won't have a complete 85 man Roster until 2022 or 2023.

"
The Les Miles era in Lawrence is about to officially begin

"The Les Miles era of Kansas football is upon us. Miles and his coaching staff have one of the toughest tasks in college football: rebuilding a program that has won just six games over the last four seasons, hasn’t gone to a bowl game or posted a winning record since 2008, and returns one of the most inexperienced rosters in the country.

Before we're able to dive into which units are strengths, which position groups must be rebuilt following the graduation of past starters and contributors, and the position battles that are typically the focus of spring practice, we need to address a foundational problem facing the Kansas football roster — and one that Power 5 programs shouldn’t have to deal with: a huge scholarship deficit.

KU currently ranks No. 122 in returning production, according to Bill Connelly’s annual list, but more importantly, as Ross Dellenger pointed out in a recent SI.com piece, Miles inherited a roster situation even worse than he or athletic director Jeff Long realized. Though FBS programs are allotted a total of 85 scholarships, the Jayhawks won’t reach that benchmark until at least 2022 (and most likely 2023 or later), because of “the shortsighted recruiting tactics of past regimes and the NCAA’s two-year-old 25-scholarship limit for each recruiting class.”

Kansas hired its last head coach, David Beaty, in large part for his recruiting prowess. Beaty helped raise the talent level somewhat following the Charlie Weis debacle, but he was never able to turn slightly higher recruiting rankings into wins, finishing his four-year tenure with a 6-43 overall record. Not only did Beaty’s decision to sign a combined 25 junior college players from 2017-18 not pay off in the standings, but the Jayhawks are in an even bigger hole now than the one he inherited from Weis."
