A thread for anyone who plays guitar. Electric, Acoustic, Steel Pedal, Dobro...got a Uke?:D Love talking about different Amps?

This one is old but still funny, imo.

The reason Guitar Center & others discourage you from playing Stairway to Heaven, is not because it's played too much, it's because their local guitar hero/salesbro can't okay it correctly.

A 'lil guitar porn..

A hybrid 12 string sounds pretty cool!
Well I say "hybrid" because it's an acoustic, but it can also plug into an amp.

I'm not a musically inclined individual. My dad taught himself how to play on an original Stratocaster. He's been playing his entire life. My youngest son is 15 and plays the alto and baritone saxophone, and plays in his high school marching band.

It sounds like a pretty interesting Acoustic. I love looking at guitar pics, I hope you can get a pic at Christmas. He's got a very early stratocaster it sounds like. Those are great guitars! I had a chance to play a few older models & they sound great. I think the oldest one I played was a 1952 Les Paul Goldtop.

I've been playing since I was about 13 or 14. I guess I'm musically inclined. But I'm not necessarily musically gifted.:D You know, 13-14 sounds young to me, but I've read a lot of the guitar hero types, started playing when were 7 or 8 year old. That kind of amazes me. I hope your son sticks with the Sax., if he likes it.

I've got a few friends & we all still play. Was in a few bands in High School, but we kept losing Bass players & drummers, lol. It's a fun hobby to have though.

.

I have a Fender Mustang vII. It's a 20 watt modeling amp with the ability to download presets. I was thinking about patching the output through my 100 watt Marshall just to see how it sounds with some of the presets I have downloaded.

That should be interesting to hear. I think it'll work out pretty well with the Celestion speaker in the Marshall. I bet the presets come out a soincing deeper on the Marshall, compared to the Fender. I guess it really depends on your amp settings though.

Y’all gonna post some videos of you shreddin’ Or what?

I've thought about it, but it would have to be under the guise of an amp demo or guitar demo or something. I don't think there's much call for "Dude plays Blue Oyster Cult/ Iron Maiden on guitar" . :D Might be wrong though...

It was right around $4500, supposedly it’s made for pure sound, it excels in the concert band area.

That’s a good lookin sax. How does the pink panther and careless whisper sound on it?

I played drums in high school. Was in a garage band and everything. We were terrible

I couldn’t tell you. He spends his football seasons in his high school marching band, and then does concert band in the winter.
